This is a blue on white porcelain and lapis lazuli pendant necklace. It is constructed with 10 mm smooth lapis lazuli beads, three 20 mm hammered sterling silver beads, four 28 mm porcelain beads with a 42 mm porcelain drop as pendant. Two pieces of cloud shaped Tibetan silver connecters complete this Chinese blue & white 青花瓷* theme necklace. This 26 inch necklace with 3.25 inch drop pendant is our second creation in 2024.
*Blue flowers/patterns first became widely used in Chinese porcelain in the 14th century. A wide range of white pottery and porcelain was decorated under glaze with a blue pigment, generally cobalt oxide, by brush painting.
